Recognising Your Skills

Have some salon or retail experience under your belt? Perhaps you’ve studied a hairdressing course or a similar field in the past? We offer Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfer (CT), allowing you to apply your existing skills toward your hairdressing course or hairdressing apprenticeship qualification at Pivot Point Academy.  

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Skills and knowledge that have been developed through your personal and professional experiences can be recognised through RPL.  Through a process of written questions, evidence collection and interviews, applicants can attempt to demonstrate competence in specific skill areas. Successful applicants will receive approved RPL unit outcomes and move through their course of study more quickly.  
Please note that all RPL must be applied for prior to course commencement, and application and skill testing fees may apply.

Credit Transfer

Students having completed study in the past may receive credit for identical units previously completed. This can reduce the study load and course duration by making some units exempt. Credits must have been acquired at Australian accredited training providers.
