Pivot Point Philosophy

Pivot Point's hairdressing educational philosophy was originally conceived by Pivot Point founder Leo Passage. As an international champion hairdresser, he spent many years developing his distinctive Scientific Approach to teaching hair design. Pivot Point’s approach to Hairdressing education was inspired by the concepts and principles taught at the Bauhaus School of Art in Germany in the early 1900’s that showed that "hair design is an art form with hair as the medium".

Pivot Point’s hairdressing system is unique in that it guides students through the Universal Design elements of shape, texture, form and colour to create a design in hair. This fundamental grounding gives Pivot Point students the ability to not just perform simple hair cut or styles, but to design and create their masterpiece by understanding the variable elements.

Only Pivot Point’s hairdressing system enables students to create predictable results, based on any mix of these design elements. It is this reason alone that Pivot Point’s Scientific Approach to Hair Design has and continues to remain the most respected Hairdressing system in the world today.

The Pivot Point International Academy offers hairdressing courses combining the Pivot Point methodology with leading-edge educational practices developed in Australia. This result in an education method that is highly interactive, cater to all learning styles and are proven to deliver higher quality hairdressing skills and greater creative freedom.
