Course Attendance

The Academy has the expectation that your attendance will be 95% - 100% of your contracted class times.

The Academy monitors attendance on a regular basis in accordance with Australian Government standards and will record non-attendance due to illness or for any other circumstances on your file which will be made available to the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC for international students) or Centrelink (for Domestic students), if required.

Pivot Point is committed to ensuring that our students maintain an industry-standard level of learning and attendance. Failing to maintain ongoing and regular attendance will result in you not progressing in accordance with your training plan and being able to complete your course on time. For Student Visa Holders, it is a requirement that you finish your training on time to comply with the DIAC.

What happens if there are issues with my attendance?

Should your attendance become an issue, you will be issued a formal warning letter and will be required to meet with the Student Services Officer. The Student Services Officer will work closely with your educators to implement an intervention strategy and counsel you to ensure that you are receiving full support.

Random attendance checks are also conducted by Centrelink to which the Academy has a responsibility to provide all requested information including attendance. If you have not maintained the required percentage of attendance levels, Centrelink may revoke your Austudy payments as a result.

If you are a holder of a Student Visa and your attendance and course progression does not improve, Pivot Point International Academy will have no choice but to report you to DIAC and terminate your enrolment. The Academy must report you to DIAC and advise you to attend an interview with DIAC with photographic identification within 28 days of the report being sent to your last known address in Australia. Your visa may be cancelled as a result of this interview.
